At KILDEN, you can enjoy a meal at one of Tivoli’s most beautiful locations. KILDEN is head chef Christian Hoffmann’s vision of a seasonal Danish brasserie with local produce of the highest quality. KILDEN is Danish for source, and we aim to serve as a source of inspiration while paying tribute to Danish produce, Danish tastes, and Danish producers from around the country. Here, surrounded by green growths, you can enjoy modernised Danish smørrebrød for lunch and enjoy the view of our garden, carefully managed by our gardener in close cooperation with the kitchen. Or come by in the evening when the lights are on, and where we offer an elegant take on seasonal Danish gastronomy with an emphasis on quality of produce and great taste.

We source most of our products around the long-stretched Danish coastline and in the fields. We work with seasonal greens – preferably organic – sustainably caught fish, and meat from animals that have lived a life under open skies. We work with the best producers, and we follow the Danish season closely. However, we don’t mind sourcing a few great things from our neighbouring countries when it makes sense: A spoonful of caviar on the coast fish, hand-dived Norwegian scallops, or truffles at their peak.

Christian Hoffmann

Our head chef Christian Hoffmann began his career cooking at five-starred Hotel d’Angleterre, went on to cook for HM The Queen on board the royal ship ’Dannebrog’ before ultimately spending four years as head chef of the Nordic-style bistro Almanak. He brings this experience to KILDEN – along with great suppliers and a sure grip on pure seasonal taste.
